Coming 28 February 2026: Manic Street Preachers: Song by Song

On 28 Febuary, 2026, Fonthill Media (an imprint of Pen & Sword Books) will publish Manic Street Preachers: Song by Song. This book is the most comprehensive account of the band’s discography yet published, and represents a enhanced, expanded version of my blog Manic Street Preachers: A Critical Discography.
About the book

​All the entries from the blog have been extensively re-worked and updated. Manic Street Preachers: Song by Song covers 344 studio recordings, from the earliest singles right up to the latest album, 2025’s Critical Thinking. While of course unofficial, this is a professionally edited and published hardcover book, a part of the publisher’s larger Song by Song series.

You may be familiar with Keith Cameron’s recent book 168 Songs of Hatred and Failure, published in September 2025. Written with the extensive cooperation of the band, it represents a deep dive into roughly half of the Manics’ output and is very highly regarded. My book is a different, and I hope complementary, proposition. While shorter and more concise, it covers the whole of the band’s work to date, and aims to offer something to both new and longtime Manics listeners.
